I suppose if the training has gone well during the week, the rest day on Friday is a welcome relief. And this week it was especially after yesterdays session at the gym.
Even though I was relieved to not have to rush home and change so that I could get training miles in before bed, there was a part of me that wished that I could run. My knee is beginning to feel better-there is less clicking and popping. I am feeling strong in my training. All of the things that make me crave running more are also all of the things that make staying equally as dedicated to rest days important.
I received a new book, well actually two new books in the mail. I used the rest day as an excuse to delve into my new reads. Perhaps that will be my rest day strategy to ensure that I don’t allow myself to get too carried away.
